Shi Choong

I am your PhD event planner. I am a wedding planner, corporate event planner, a process engineer, a foodie and a dog mom. I have a PhD in Analytical Chemistry and I was a license holder and organizer of TEDx events. I am logical, creative, driven, fun and assertive. Living in different countries and states has expanded my palette of global cultures. At the end of Sept 2024, I will leave my current role as an engineer to embrace fully my entrepreneurship and a new path that brings me joy and feeds my soul.

I am a Malaysian Chinese, born and raised in Malaysia. Growing up, I was repeatedly told I was not good enough, not pretty enough etc. My mother dressed me as a boy. My brothers and I had the same hairstyles and wardrobe because “I was too ugly to dress like a girl.” She cut my beautiful dresses into pieces in front of the younger me, making me feel not worthy of beautiful things. My parents left when I was 15, forcing me to be an adult overnight to raise three younger siblings.

I was struggling with body image and self-esteem. I have decided not to feel that way anymore. So I became a lifestyle and branding model to help bring diversity in modeling. I am reshaping the narrative of what is considered beautiful and fostering a supportive community within the modeling industry. I am passionate about diversity and I also help promote local business through catalog modeling.

I love LOVE. Helping couples to plan their dream weddings and being part of their celebrations of love help me see, learn and understand what love is. In the process of helping them, I find love, I feel love and love heals me. It heals the part of me that always feels like I am not good enough and that I am not lovable. I also help individuals and businesses plan events to bring positive energy as they celebrate holidays, milestones and anniversaries.
